The Mt. Horeb Climbing Rose is in bloom and very beautiful!
Awesome to see brothers & sisters in Christ Jesus praising God in the streets! Let's praise God with this much love & enthusiasm in our church home, too!
The pink climbing roses at Mt. Horeb are blooming and look so beautiful! Especially with the pink in the stained glass windows! And the rosemary and pink sage near the historical marker are blooming also! What a beautiful spring this is! Psalm 104:30-34 "30 Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth. 31 The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works. 32 He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke. 33 I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. 34 My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD."
Easter 2015 was truly a great day for prayer & worship. A time for reflection and meeting new brothers & sisters in Christ Jesus, as well. Deacon Coffee and I would like to thank Mitch and Mike for playing guitars with him and Pat, and also Adena for bringing the lovely blue flowers that graced the sanctuary.
If our LORD wakes you up tomorrow morning (April 5th, 2015) I'm sure you will want to thank HIM and praise HIM! We hope you will join us for our service tomorrow. Rev. Wade is coming to Mt. Horeb to share God's Word. It starts at 11:30 am. Also, if you want to join us for Sunday School, Deacon Coffee begins it with praise and worship at 10:15 am. And this is what awaits you! My attempt at cut out cookies! Every one has a gift, so, I'm not discouraged, because, I'm still experimenting to discover what mine is!
Proverbs 9:7-12 "7 He that correcteth a scoffer getteth to himself reviling; And he that reproveth a wicked man getteth himself a blot. 8 Reprove not a scoffer, lest he hate thee:Reprove a wise man, and he will love thee. 9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser:Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning. 10 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 11 For by me thy days shall be multiplied, And the years of thy life shall be increased. 12 If thou art wise, thou art wise for thyself; And if thou scoffest, thou alone shalt bear it." God loves YOU! Pastor Wade will be giving our sermon this coming Sunday, the 1st Sunday in February, the 1st. I hope you can come. Bring your burdens to the Lord and leave 'em there! Today we sang "Oh Lord I thank thee, thank thee, thank thee! Yes, I thank thee, thank thee, thank thee, Yes I thank thee all the days of my life!" We have so much to be thankful for. When we start counting our blessings, it's amazing just how much we forget about. If you took the time to write down the things you have to be thankful for, they might even outweigh the things you think you're lacking!
This is the Scripture we are studying for Sunday School Jan. 4, 2015. Luke Chapter 11:1-13 "And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not:the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children:how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him." Since our new Sunday School books are not in yet. Hope to see you there!

Sometimes we visit other churches on the 5th Sundays, so please call us for information at 830-833-4183. Thank you all, and may God bless you and keep you in the palm of His hands. Proverbs 1:10 "My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not."
Our Sunday School at Mt. Horeb is held each Sunday at 10:15 am, and is taught by Deacon Lawrence Coffee. It is only for an hour, and it is a great way to study God's Word. If you're not involved in a bible study and would like to join us for praise and worship, please come. We welcome visitors.
If you have read the Gospels, or heard a message on Jesus Christ, you may remember that He performed the miracles of God in front of everyone who was following Him in His path. He is for ALL OF US who will believe in Him, and look at Him, follow Him, and BE IN HIS PATH. He is ALIVE today, He was seen by 500 people after He was resurrected from the dead, and HE IS seated at the right hand of our heavenly Father. Turn to JESUS, and He will receive you, and come to reside in your heart, and no one can snatch you away from Him. Hebrews 13:1-6 "Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, βI will never leave you nor forsake you.β So we can confidently say, βThe Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?" Hebrews 13:1-6
Paul told us, in Philippians 2:5-16 "5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. 14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; 16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain." Shall we therefore, hold forth our bibles, which is the Word of God, sharing His light and TRUTH, without complaining, speaking the name of Jesus, with the mind of Christ, in all meekness and lowliness, which is humbleness? The answer is YES! YES, LORD, YES LORD, YES LORD, YES! AMEN!
Philippians 4:8 (KJV) "8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Our minds are so powerful that we do what we think! If you are struggling with unholy things coming up in your mind, tell those strongholds to be loosed from you in Jesus' name, and begin a new habit, that of thinking of Jesus, and reading God's Word. Begin by reading a chapter of the gospel of John and a chapter of Proverbs for each day of the month. In Luke 6:45 Jesus said "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh." When we praise God and thank Him for our blessings we are dwelling on Him. Psalm 105:3 "Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord." Jesus can and will set us free from habitual thinking, but we also must renew our minds with God's Word. He helps us when we "seek Him", for we shall find Him. Romans 12:2 "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Come join us for service at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church! We begin Sunday School at 10:15 a.m. every Sunday morning. Call us for more information (830) 833-4183. May our LORD bless you and keep you, in Jesus' name, Amen.
We enjoyed a great homecoming celebration this year, and if you didn't come, you missed hearing our dear friend, Pastor Jeff Latham, and his son and son's friend. They played guitars and sang "I'll Fly Away" for us. One of the highlights of the homecoming is always hearing Pastor Mays, from Center Union Missionary Baptist Church, deliver his great sermons, and he sang a song for us called "I Won't Complain" and his church choir also sang great worship songs. Sharon and Vicky, Lawrence's daughters, delivered some history for us, and we enjoyed seeing everyone who came from afar. We also enjoyed a lot of good food, and some told Lawrence they missed his BBQ! Sorry about that. We were busy the previous day at Blanco Market Day on the square selling our Blanco Cowboy Kettle Corn! He didn't have time to BBQ this year! Thank you Jeff, for coming, I saw your dad, too! And Thank You Center Union! We enjoyed y'all!

This is Sister Yett, and we were having our praise time at bible study, so I must have been busy when we started, because I didn't get all of it, but enough to enjoy reminiscing! Amazing, she never did use music sheets, she'd just jump on there and go!
This woman can sing! Her name is Patricia, and we enjoyed her singing during one of our annual Homecomings. I wasn't able to get my camera started in time, because she was not on the program, and she just decided to sing for us, because she felt led to, but I got a good portion of the song! :-)
